Snow Day
Watching southerns grab anything and everything to sled down hills was fun. They used garbage bags, cookie sheets, laundry baskets, pool toys, canoes, and all sorts of other flat-ish things. Their joy was so fantastic to share.
I admit that I have not been enjoying this new year. I have been feeling negative about the corruption and negativity in my country. It isn’t the America I grew up in or at least the one I thought was real. The Southerns reactions to their snow days helped me remember that, for the most part, we are all still just kids at heart.
Their inventiveness lead me to think about what would a kid use to decorate a snowman in the South which gave me all kinds of silly ideas and thus inspired my next book. More later. Hope you all get at least one good snow day this year.
